Government Backed Business Tour to Encourage Growth Amongst Start-Ups

Small businesses and start ups across the UK will be receiving support and encouragement to assist their growth thanks to a government backed road show that will take place over the course of this year. The Get Growing! The Great British Business Roadshow will be heading out to close to a dozen cities over the course of this year in a bid to try and both encourage and help smaller businesses to grow.

The initiative has been backed by the Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills, and is being headed up by FreeAgent, which is a leading cloud accounting company that provides services for small businesses and sole traders in the UK. A range of other big name companies are also involved in the road show, which includes Elance and Paypal.

The tour was launched last month at the London Google Campus and over the remainder of this year a number of cities will be visited by experts as part of the exercise. Newcastle, Brighton, Cambridge, and Edinburgh are just a few of the eleven cities that the tour will be heading to, enabling owners of small businesses who are in those areas or are able to get to the cities to benefit from expert advice.

Business owners will be able to enjoy receiving insightful advice and practical assistance from the experts on the tour, all of which is designed to help them to find out more about growing their business. There will be plenty of additional events and activities geared towards small businesses, with a range of workshops that are being set up to further assist those who want to find out more about growing their business.

In addition to this, the tour will enable small business owners to interact and network with other small enterprises from their area, which could in itself result in increased opportunities for growth. There will also be special deals and offers available on a variety of invaluable tools and resources to aid the growth of small businesses.

Skills and Enterprise Minister Matthew Hancock stated: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and it is essential they are given the right advice and guidance for them to start-up and scale up. It is an important part of our long term economic plan that we provide them with the right environment to make the most of their ambition and aspiration. The Great Business Roadshow will mean that the country’s leading small business experts will be on hand throughout the country to provide insights on how to help your business grow.”
