KashFlow review – an online accounting software aimed at small and growing businesses that promises to be the solution to all your needs while in the cloud and on the go.

Can it really cater to all that? This review will look into it.

At a Glance

Exactly as they label themselves on their official website, KashFlow is an online accounting software made simple. Using their platform or mobile app will allow you to update your VAT and submit it directly to HMRC or improve your cash flow by paying online or getting paid yourself no matter where you are.

If you still feel like you need to liaise with your accountant, you can do that as well via the KashFlow platform.

The idea behind KashFlow is to help you save time and energy because, just as they phrase it, they know exactly how time-consuming it can be to run a small business. Of course, when you put it like that, it’s not hard at all to understand why they receive such positive reviews.

KashFlow will also become very easy to use once you have set up your account, having a finance-oriented dashboard that is very intuitive.

If you want to see more details about the entire package of features that KashFlow supports, we strongly recommend that you visit the KashFlow website.

Fees

With KashFlow, there are three pricing plans that will suit any business need. They are all aimed at different types of business, so you will know immediately which one to choose, as soon as you browse their website.

The Starter plan costs £8 /month + VAT or £56 /year + VAT and is intended for small businesses, sole traders, and contractors. If this is your choice, you will get 10 invoices and unlimited quotes per month, up to 25 bank transactions to reconcile and one single user per account.

The Business plan costs £15 /month + VAT or £111 /year + VAT and, as KashFlow claims, is perfect for growing businesses as well as limited companies. It’s also worth mentioning here that this is the one plan that KashFlow themselves recommend out of the three they offer.

Should this be your choice, you will enjoy unlimited quotes and invoices, unlimited bank transactions, and multiple users per account.

And finally, the third type of account KashFlow offer is the Business + Payroll one. As you might have already guessed, it’s exactly like the Business plan only it has the added feature of Payroll. The plan costs £21 /month + VAT or £150 /year + VAT.

If you are a new customer who is signing up with KashFlow for the first time, you will get the first four months for free, which is definitely a pro.

KashFlow Reviews From Customers:

It is amazing, everything is in one place – accounts, estimates/quotes and invoices. There is always help if you need it too. Life is so much easier with Kashflow!

5-Star review from Linda Marsh via Trustpilot

Came to KashFlow from Quickbooks mostly because it was a lot easier to use. I was hesitant after reading some reviews with support but I use the chat box and there’s always someone on the other end who I can speak too, I’ve used that feature a few times. Mileage calc is very good too.

The Advantages

Now that we know so many things about this online accounting software thanks to the KashFlow review, it would be a great opportunity to see exactly what are the advantages of using it.

One of the great things about it is that KashFlow is cheaper than other similar pieces of software on the market. This will indeed make it perfect for you if you have a small business or a startup.

Apart from that, KashFlow offers an extended free trial of four months, which is far more than what you see with other platforms. As a consequence, you will have plenty of time to make friends with the software and decide if it’s the right fit for you or not.

KashFlow also has a large number of apps and add-ons that you can enjoy. Some examples include Salesforce and ConnectMyApps for CRM, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, and Shopify for E-Commerce, IRIS Insight for Financial Forecasting, SimpleOrder for Shipping and Inventory Management, as well as CashPlus for Expense Management.

But these are only a few examples. To see the full list, you can visit their Apps page on the KashFlow website.

The Disadvantages

Since this is an objective KashFlow review, we need to point out some of the features that might be a little lacking, even though KashFlow is a great platform overall.

For example, the plans or packages it offers are not very diverse. There are three of them, but the third one is simply the Business plan with Payroll added. As a result, if you’re looking for some flexibility, you might not find it here.

There have also been some complaints from users about the customer support provided by the KashFlow team.

Online reviews state that it can prove to be a tad difficult to get in touch with their support crew. Or that they tend to answer with some difficulty to messages and emails, despite having been very active during the sales period.

Another disadvantage comes from online reviews as well and it states that the account is somewhat difficult to setup when it comes to KashFlow. A new user has to go through a large number of steps until the setup is completed, some of which need accounting knowledge.

Others were not that impressed with the dashboard that might need a bit of tweaking to make it easier to use.

KashFlow Review – Summary

The end of the KashFlow review points to the fact that this online accounting software is a cheap one compared to others on the market, but not necessarily the easiest to use.

The platform offers a great variety of features and even more apps that will cover all your needs, as well as a mobile app so you can access your data and do your work no matter where you are in the world.

KashFlow also offer a four-month free trial for all new users as well as free business guides on their website when you register, which are full of advice.

All this plus the very long trial period prompt us to recommend KashFlow as a reasonable accounting software, though we do also recommend comparing to the likes of Quickbooks and FreeAgent to ensure it’s definitely right for you.
